This dairy free AIP Cheese Sauce is creamy, thick and has a delicious savoury taste. Made from vegetables and nutritional yeast it is healthy, and super easy to make. Add it to pastas, burgers, salads, or use as a dipping sauce. The options are endless for this versatile sauce.
AIP dairy free cheese sauce
Time : 30 minutes
Yields : 1.5 cups
Ingredients
• 1 cup purple skinned white kumara, cooked and cooled
• 1/2 cup cauliflower florets, cooked
• 2/3 cup coconut milk
• 1/2 cup chicken broth
• 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
• 1/2 tsp garlic powder
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1 tbsp avocado oil
Instructions
Chop kumara into small cubes and boil in a pot of water until soft. Add the cauliflower florets to the pot once kumara is almost cooked.
Drain and leave to cool.
Add all ingredients into a blender, and blend on high until you have a smooth sauce.
To use, pour the sauce into a small saucepan and heat gently until warmed through.
Storage
Transfer into a jar with a lid and keep refrigerated for up to 5 days.
